Randstad Student & Worker Support are looking for reliable and committed Academic Note Takers and Study Assistants to work with Students at Teesside University - Teesside Working as an academic note taker at Teesside University you will be providing an essential service to students with disabilities while having the chance to learn something new everyday. You will attend various lectures and seminars and take accurate notes for students who due to their disability find it difficult to make notes for themselves. Responsibilities : Working as a manual notetaker you will be providing an essential service to students with disabilities. Producing accurate and legible notes for lectures, seminars/tutorials and group tasks Reviewing notes at the end of the lecture and ensuring that they are in a suitable format for the student to access effectively Maintaining a professional role as a note taker and being aware of the need to maintain this professional relationship with the student at all times Acting in the best interests of learners at all times whilst also working within the policies and procedures of the Universities You will work closely with Randstad regarding the needs of individual students, and to ensure that any concerns are addressed in a timely manner. You will be expected to act professionally and maintain confidentiality within your role at all times, sharing all relevant information with Randstad to ensure the best possible service to your students. Required Skills : Have neat handwriting - able to produce notes in a legible and presentable manner Accurate spelling and grammar skills Punctuality and reliability Great time management skills. Good organizational skills understanding of role boundaries. LifeSkills Coordinator Service: LifeSkills Salary: Grade 3 (lower, points 20-23) Starting at £28,315 - £31,073 FTE (20 hours £15,305.41 - £16,796.22 and 25 hours £19,131.76 - £20,995.27 per annum, pro rata) Hours: 20-25 hours per week (part time) Location: Homebased, based in the North East with some travel Contract: Fixed Term Contract until 31 March 2025, with potential to extend About LifeSkills: The LifeSkills programme offers groups of families the chance to come together to a trusted venue such as a children's centre / family hub or community setting. As well as offering opportunities for families to spend quality time together and have access to healthy food, these sessions will offer LifeSkills workshops for parents and carers to build their confidence, social networks, financial and employability skills. Examples include but are not limited to overcoming setbacks, managing debt, boosting confidence to return to work, CV writing, interview skills. The aims of the LifeSkills programme are to support participants to increase their confidence and 21st century skills, move closer to training / volunteering / employment, improve their social networks, and grow their confidence to provide low cost and nutritious meals. Main Responsibilities (please see job description & person specification for more details): - Delivering LifeSkills sessions to groups of families in the North East area (eg Stockton-on-Tees, Middlesbrough, Darlington). - Be the main point of contact for delivery partners hosting programmes (e.g. small charities, schools) and staff and volunteers delivering sessions, and be expected to respond promptly to a wide range of queries and requests for support. - Examples of tasks - devising LifeSkills programmes for different cohorts, presenting to potential partners, devising risk assessments, recording data, and visiting and providing guidance and support for staff and volunteers delivering sessions in venues across the country.
