Your new company Hays Recruitment are proud to be working in partnership with a primary and nursery school situated in the heart of Chester city centre as they are looking to appoint a motivated and reliable teaching assistant to support in year 3. This is a long-term contract attached to the school receiving additional funding. The school have confirmed that this will last until the end of the academic year if the funding is not cut. Your new role In your new role as a teaching assistant, you will be supporting the year 3 class teacher in all aspects of learning. You will effectively manage the classroom, utilising all resources and learning material as well as effectively managing pupils' behaviours by using a myriad of behaviour management techniques. You will support your new pupils on a 1:1 and group basis, hold intervention and booster sessions in core subjects, and ensure that all pupils reach their full academic potential. A number of pupils in this class do have SEN including LD and GLD, as well as supporting the wider class. You will be required to support these pupils on a 1:1 basis. Your new company This 2 form entry primary school is looking for a Year 3 teacher to join them in September to teach 2.5 days per week on a Monday-Wednesday with 0.5 PPA on top. This Church of England school is committed to working together to provide a high quality education for all their pupils. Your new role Your new job as a part-time Year 3 teacher will be to work as part of a job share with another teacher. You will spend your 0.5 PPA time planning alongside the other Year 3 team as you all get PPA time together, so the work load is really shared evenly across everyone. You will therefore be required to plan and deliver the lessons as well as mark the work to school policy and leave a hand-over for the job share ready for the second part of the week. What you'll need to succeed As this is a job share post, you must consider yourself to have excellent communication skills and pride yourself on building relationships and being part of a team. Experience of lower key stage 2 or someone who has recently taught a Year 2 class would be great. This job is initially for one term but could extend after Christmas.
