The post holder will provide Human Resources support and day to day advice and guidance on the interpretation and application of policies and employment law to managers and employees ensuring that council policies and procedures are followed appropriately.
The post holder will proactively manage an individual caseload of employee relations and attendance management cases including complex and sensitive casework, supporting managers in undertaking employee relations investigations and hearings, attendance management meetings, capability meetings and other procedures of the Council whilst liaising with managers, employees and trade union representatives to seek resolution of HR/workforce issues, recommending action or support as appropriate.
The post holder will carry out analysis and interpretation of different types of data from a variety of sources and produce management information as required using the metrics to proactively identify issues, trends and effective solutions.
The role is the first point of contact for all day-to-day HR enquiries covering (recruitment, ER, case management, HR and Payroll queries, HR support and admin).
The role will include delivering accurate transactions to update the HR/Payroll systems to reflect the workforce changes, within the HR centralised function, this role will be involved, and where relevant lead the development of processes and initiatives supporting continuous improvement of the services the team delivers.
This is a fixed term contract until end of 2024, working on a hybrid basis as part of a busy centralised HR team based near Pontefract, this role supports 4 operational site based HRBPs covering UK wide manufacturing sites.
