The Candidate
A thorough working knowledge and understanding of current housing law, such as the Housing Act 1996, Parts VI and VII, Homelessness Act 2002, Localism Act 2012, Homelessness Reduction Act 2017 and immigration law as it applies to housing eligibility, relevant code of guidance and case law.
Ability to interview applicants skilfully and sensitively to elicit as much information as possible, give the appropriate advice and make informed decisions.
To provide comprehensive housing advice and information to households in housing need in order to ensure their housing needs are met via the appropriate intervention.

To process complex and detailed correspondence and telephone enquiries in relation to housing allocations applications, including who can join the Housing Register, the banding scheme and what priority a customer may be awarded under the scheme and the provision of realistic advice on the availability of social housing and a customer's housing options.
The purpose of the post is to provide operational housing maintenance services to enable the continuing improvement of the service.
Under the direction of designated Repairs Officer, the post holder will undertake variety of work including inspections, repairs, servicing, improvements and replacement items in accordance with job orders work programme supplied.
There is a special emphasis on improving the quality of customer service and the ad hoc repair service overall.
The Repair Scheduler will primarily be responsible for the technical administration of the backlog of repairs within the housing maintenance team.
This will range from, but not be limited to cancelling jobs and re-raising orders for external contractors, updating spreadsheets, asset tables and internal systems.
