Night Shift Supervisor Location - Sittingbourne, Kent Salary - £17.46 per hour - plus an additional £1.50 per hour for hours worked after 6pm Shift pattern: 10pm - 6am Temporary to Permanent Are you an experienced Night Shift Supervisor who holds an IOSH qualification? Are you a strong communicator who has experience in managing staff within a manufacturing or yard environment? My client a leader in their industry within the UK are looking to recruit a Night Shift Supervisor on a temporary to permanent basis. Duties and responsibilities: Leading and motivating a team to deliver the company's objectives of providing quality services to our customers while working in a clean, safe, and productive environment. Being a champion of Health and Safety by ensuring that the company's SSOW/Health and Safety Policies (e.g. PPE)/ Relevant Legislation are adhered to and enforced. Reporting of all Incidents, Near Misses and Observations, and working with the Health and Safety team to ensure these are investigated & actioned appropriately. Delivering Toolbox Talks/Safety Alerts/Training where necessary. Conducting Audits/Checks on key parts of our process such as weekly site inspections etc. Challenging unsafe and reinforcing positive behaviours through the company's Stop/Go System to aid in improving the company's Health and Safety Culture. Assisting with the Creation and Review of Risk Assessments and Safe Systems of Work where required. Responsible for the production throughout the plant, through work mix variation, ensuring efficiency objectives are achieved. Assisting the management team with resource organisation (e.g. rotas and holidays), delegating tasks and dealing with day-to-day resource issues as necessary (e.g. absence management, disciplinary) to ensure adequate resourcing and performance levels are maintained so the site runs smoothly, and service requirements are met. Ensuring that equipment pre-operation checks are completed and that faults identified are reported to the relevant department/individuals. Identifying and reporting operational issues to include but not limited to, quality, goods damages and/or loss, interruptions to productivity such as breakdowns, personnel, etc. Being prepared to participate in future leadership development programmes organised by the company. Person specification: Must be Numerate and literate. Would suit somebody who is highly motivated and target-driven Must be Health and safety certificate/qualified (Minimum IOSH Managing Safely) It is essential that the individual is collaborative and enjoys working as part of a team. Must be a good communicator at all levels of a business. Approachable and able to gain the respect of others is a must for this role. Essential you are organised and flexible. Previous experience with Handling/Fabricating Steel (Desirable).
