Job Title: Crane Supervisor / Slinger

Location: Strood

We are currently seeking a motivated and experienced Crane Supervisor / Slinger to oversee and coordinate crane operations on our client's construction sites in Strood. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring the safe and efficient movement of materials and equipment using cranes, while also providing guidance to crane operators and ground crews.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Supervise and coordinate all crane operations on site, ensuring compliance with safety regulations and company policies.
  • Conduct pre-operational checks on cranes and lifting equipment to ensure they are in safe working condition.
  • Direct crane operators and ground crews in the safe movement of materials and equipment, providing clear and concise instructions.
  • Inspect lifting gear and accessories to ensure they meet safety standards and are suitable for use.
  • Monitor weather conditions and other factors that may affect crane operations, making adjustments as necessary to ensure safety.
  • Maintain accurate records of all lifting operations, including lift plans, risk assessments, and equipment inspections.
  • Train and mentor crane operators and ground crews on safe lifting practices and procedures.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Valid CPCS Crane Supervisor and CPCS Slinger/Signaller certifications.
  • Strong understanding of health and safety regulations relating to crane operations.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to provide clear instructions and guidance to crane operators and ground crews.
  • Good organisational skills, with the ability to prioritise tasks and manage multiple responsibilities effectively.
  • Ability to work well under pressure and make quick decisions in fast-paced environments.
