The role First and foremost, it is expected that you will be people focussed, be able to effectively manage, coach and motivate a team. You will provide a positive and professional image of the Employment Law function to both internal and external customers whilst encompassing Citation's values. You will work collaboratively with the ELT Management team and other departments in the continued development of the ELT / HR service including the implementation of new technology and associated change management processes. To be able to offer support and guidance to the Solicitors, HR Consultants and Advisors within the Employment Law Team, it is essential that you have a sound understanding of Employment Law and HR practices. The ability to coach and deliver feedback effectively to your team whilst being able to conduct difficult conversations and handle objections. You will stay up to date with the latest changes in employment law and government guidance and will be able to confidently talk about these changes to both clients and consultants. Responsibilities in role: Team assistance Actively managing a team of Solicitors, HR Consultants/Advisors. Completion of internal HR processes and meetings with team members. Helping consultants effectively manage their workload. Monitoring staff performance through quality assessments, providing appropriate feedback and logging any training needs appropriately. Conducting monthly one-to-one meetings with each team member. Supporting the team, alongside the Senior Consultants, with more challenging/complex cases. Have an active role in recruitment, performing first and second interviews as required. Keeping the team abreast of any updates and holding catch-up meetings twice weekly with the team. Training To attend all internal training meetings and conferences as appropriate. Provide training to the ELT, HR On-Demand, Field HR and Tribunal teams. Keeping a record of individual consultant's training needs and requirements and feeding these needs back to the Head of ELT. To be confident in utilising the learning resources we have available eg. Lexis Nexis, IDS books. Client work Taking an active part in the account management for platinum clients, attending regular meetings. Handling client complaints and liaising effectively with the Client Success team. Have a clear understanding of the employment advice guarantee and commercial advice promise. About you: Experience of managing and coaching direct reports. A sound understanding of employment law and HR practices. Ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality. Strong objection-handling skills. Monitor lead and conversion performance across all referral channels. Undertake detailed analysis to support stakeholders in times of over or underperformance. Prepare weekly campaign and performance reports in line with targets and KPIs. Liaise with colleagues at all levels to gain and share insights and best practice. Be a key part of the retention and referral marketing team, within the wider Group marketing team.
