Key Purpose of Role Key Duties / Responsibilities Person Specification: Qualifications - Chartered membership of The Royal Town Planning Institute or The Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors. Experience - Demonstrable experience in town and urban planning. Extensive experience of the planning process from preparation and submission to consent and appeal. Experienced in planning laws and related legislation. Project management know-how with previous experience of taking planning projects through the stages from formation to finalisation. Key knowledge and skills - Knowledge of the differing and varying planning requirements, policies and preferences of Local Authorities. Knowledge of specific design and specification features and planning approaches to expedite planning approvals and maximise value to the company. Sound working knowledge of cost accounting and data management systems used by the company. Understanding of CDM Regulations, LABC/NHBC requirements and Codes of Practice Excellent communication and presentation skills. Leadership and coaching skills. Persuasion and influencing skills. Interpersonal / motivation skills. Personal attributes - A high degree of self-motivation and drive. To be responsible for managing matters associated with planning (Town and Country Planning Act) required to meet the Company's development objectives and maximise development potential and returns. To ensure that the company complies with all relevant planning legislation. To develop and maintain schedule for the discharge of planning conditions. Produce Title overlays. Produce/assist in preparation of pre-exchange and pre-completion, pre-start packs. Use Photoshop to colour sketch plans, produce planning drawings, produce street scenes & 3D visuals. Use AutoCAD software to produce site plans, materials plans, phasing plans, conveyance plans, management plans, sales area plans, constraints plans, street scenes, house type drawings, standard details and any other architectural plans required. In close collaboration with the Land Manager, Architectural Manager and the Engineering Manager, ensuring that a co-ordinated and sustainable approach to the combined design function is achieved. To liaise closely with all departmental peers ensuring that the company's requirements are prioritised and delivered at all times. Participate in the assessment of potential development opportunities, managing and overseeing the preparation of working drawings and schematics for land and development appraisals as required. To ensure all planning application submissions are produced within programming deadlines with specific consideration of external dependencies such as Planning Approval lead times, local consultation requirements. To ensure that statutory approvals are efficiently expedited to meet the Company's development and build programme schedule where possible achieving additional planning gains. Commission the appointment of relevant external consultants as required and ensure consultant/supplier compliance with the terms of appointment with all drawings and information received, reviewed and checked, co-ordinated and distributed on time and within budget. Provide expertise and advice on all Planning matters, managing the release of planning conditions and any other imposed conditions mitigating and resolving issues to meet sustainability demands and protect the commercial integrity of the development. Co-ordinate the production and distribution of key planning updates, solutions, status reports, activity plans and issue logs to all internal departments in support of effective management and project delivery at every key stage of the development process. To ensure the department establishes and maintains effective working relationships with all departments in particular Construction, Sales and Commercial taking a lead role to facilitate effective cross functional team working to resolve planning issues as they arise thereby ensuring the realisation of all development objectives. Act as an ambassador of the company, at all times seeking to enhance the professional reputation of the company, establishing productive working partnerships across all key external groups, especially Local Authorities. At all times ensure compliance with responsibilities under the Company's Health and Safety and Environmental Policies and all other company policies, procedures and instructions. Understand and use the knowledge base within the business. Lead, supervise, coach and motivate team members to achieve high performance standards demonstrating a commitment to best practice and the continuous professional development of all team members that both improves individual and team contribution to business goals and enhances the reputation of the Company internally and externally. AWE is currently looking for a Project Planner to focus on a variety of projects covering site maintenance and refurbishment, including the installation of control systems, updating existing monitoring devices, and the design and implementation of safety systems. As a Project Planner, you will work within the Project Controls teams across the business on a broad spectrum of projects, all within some of the most tightly regulated environments possible. You should have previous experience using Primavera P6 for planning, managing and executing your project work and an understanding of NEC4 Contracts. You will support the delivery of the complete planning capability within the business by maintaining the Integrated Master Schedule (IMS). Supporting the Task Manager with business rhythms, schedule integrity, network analysis, Earned Value and communications with the programme and business teams. Successful Candidates will be responsible for: Creation of the Work breakdown structure, Resource loading, Project level IMS (Integrated Master Schedule), and Project-specific basis of scheduling documents. Input into the month-end process including updating schedule progress, undertaking schedule forecasting, updating milestone status and critical path analysis, and undertaking schedule performance review including EV variance analysis. Providing Planning input to Investment approval and Change control process, Risk and Opportunity process, and Peer reviews. Production of Planning and EV deliverables in accordance with the appropriate procedures and guidelines. Proposing solutions and workarounds to address schedule performance issues.
