Workforce Planning and Implementation Officer Hourly rate: £15.48, PAYE Location: Preston, Headquarters Job Type: 6-month contract. We are looking for a Workforce Planning and Implementation Officer to provide professional HR advice, guidance, and support to our organisation. The role involves business planning, change management processes, and maintaining an effective corporate redeployment process for police and staff. Day to Day of the role: Assist in delivering robust workforce planning to meet the Chief Constable's objectives. Support redeployment processes by identifying suitable roles for individuals displaced for various reasons. Advise on organisational change programmes and restructures. Provide guidance on employment legislation and case law to assist with resourcing decisions. Promote a culture of service excellence and continuous improvements within the Workforce Planning team. Administer the vacancy clearance process in consultation with relevant parties. Provide management information to assist strategic decision-making. Advise on resourcing issues, including vacancy management and succession planning. Support the implementation of organisational restructures and workforce modernisation programmes. Maintain and update the role profile library in collaboration with relevant departments. Produce reports, briefing notes, and updates for management. Support the HR SMT to meet operational demand and assist throughout the HR Department as required. Demonstrate a commitment to delivering high-quality service and embrace a continuous learning culture. Promote and comply with the Equality Act 2010 and the organisation's health and safety policy. Required Skills & Qualifications: Level 5 CIPD qualification or equivalent, or willingness to achieve within 2 academic years. Recruitment and Selection trained (desirable). Associate membership of CIPD (desirable). Experience in tasking and directing staff. Experience in advising on recruitment, resourcing, and organisational change initiatives. Ability to produce accurate written information with attention to detail. Experience in maintaining and interrogating HR/IT systems. Effective communication skills, both verbally and in writing. Experience within a Human Resources background, applying policies and procedures. Proficiency in Microsoft Software Applications, including Word, Excel & Outlook. Ability to solve problems logically and systematically. Experience working to tight deadlines within a busy environment.
