Payroll Officer

As Payroll Officer, you will be responsible for ensuring the timely and accurate processing of payroll for a diverse workforce. This role is ideal for someone with strong payroll expertise and a keen understanding of current regulations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Monthly Payroll Management: Process payroll adjustments, including overtime, absence, and holiday payments using Sage 50 Payroll.
  • Onboarding and Terminations: Facilitate the smooth onboarding of new employees and manage the exit process for departing staff.
  • Policy Compliance: Implement changes to terms and conditions in accordance with company policies and effective dates.
  • Incentive Payments: Calculate and process commissions and bonuses in line with company guidelines.
  • Holiday Premiums: Accurately calculate holiday premiums each month to ensure compliance.
  • Data Verification: Generate and review reports for accuracy prior to issuing payslips.
  • Payroll Queries: Serve as the primary point of contact for payroll-related questions and issues.
  • Pension Administration: Upload pension contributions and maintain accurate records for compliance purposes.
  • Regulatory Compliance: Perform monthly checks to ensure adherence to National Minimum Wage (NMW) and other regulations.
  • Report Submission: Compile and submit month-end reports, including FPS, EPS, and PAYE documentation.

About You:

  • Experience: A minimum of 5 years of comprehensive payroll processing experience in a complex organisation.
  • Sage 50 Proficiency: Strong knowledge of Sage 50 Payroll is highly advantageous.
  • Detail-Oriented: Exceptional accuracy and attention to detail in all aspects of payroll.
  • Effective Communicator: Strong communication skills with the ability to engage with employees at all levels.
  • Professional Attitude: Confident and professional with a proactive approach to challenges.
  • Legislative Awareness: Up-to-date knowledge of payroll legislation and compliance requirements.
  • Adaptable: Willingness to take on new tasks and collaborate with the finance team.
  • Excel Skills: Proficient in Excel, with the ability to analyse data effectively.
  • CIPP Qualification: A desirable asset for candidates.

Salary & Benefits
