We are looking for a candidate with experience of working in Business Rates or similar environment within Revenues, possess a high level knowledge of Business Rates legislation, including the enforcement process.
Work accurately to tight deadlines.
Able to use Academy Revs & Bens and Enterprise (formally information@work) systems.
To provide appropriate administrative support for meetings as and when required, including arranging venues, issuing invitations and agendas, collating reports, minute taking and distributing minutes as required
SUMMARY OF RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES
To ensure correspondence including letters, email and telephone calls are dealt with appropriately including alerting the Manager to specific priorities and issues.
You will: Provide leadership for tribunal and formal disagreements, which will include preparing cases for tribunal, liaising with Legal Services, SEND services and multi-agency practitioners, represent the Local Authority in a legal environment, presenting Local Authority cases at SENDT and defending the appropriateness of the proposed service provision.
Ensure mediation and problem resolution is an active feature at an early stage in caseworkers' engagement with families to reduce tribunal numbers.
