Job Title: Caretaker for SEN Primary School Location: Purley, London Job Type: Part-Time (Temp to Perm) Working Hours: 11:30 AM - 6:30 PM, Monday to Friday Job Description: Overview: An SEN Primary School in Purley is seeking a dedicated and reliable Caretaker to join our team on a part-time basis. This position offers the potential for a temporary to permanent transition for the right candidate. The Caretaker will be responsible for ensuring the school environment is safe, clean, and well-maintained, supporting the needs of our students and staff. Key Responsibilities: Maintenance and Repairs: Perform routine maintenance tasks, including minor repairs and general upkeep of the school premises. Ensure all equipment and facilities are in good working order, reporting any major issues to the management. Health and Safety: Conduct regular health and safety checks to ensure compliance with school policies and regulations. Address any hazards promptly to maintain a safe environment for students and staff. Cleaning and Hygiene: Oversee and conduct daily cleaning routines, ensuring all areas of the school are clean and sanitary. Manage waste disposal and recycling processes efficiently. Security: Ensure the security of the school premises by locking and unlocking doors and windows as required. Monitor and respond to any security concerns, including liaising with external security services if necessary. Support Services: Assist with the setup and breakdown of equipment and furniture for school events and activities. Respond to urgent maintenance requests and other ad hoc duties as directed by the school management. Qualifications and Skills: Experience: Previous experience in a caretaking, maintenance, or similar role, preferably within an educational setting. Skills: Strong practical skills in general maintenance and repairs. Knowledge of health and safety regulations. Good organizational and time-management skills. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Basic IT skills for logging maintenance requests and reporting issues. Attributes: Reliable and punctual. Good communication skills.
