Zest Education are currently recruiting a driven and committed Teaching Assistant to work in a Year 1 class on a full-time basis. You will be required to work Monday to Friday, 8:30am till 3:30pm, starting as soon as possible. You will be joining a welcoming school based in Rubery that has high expectations for their students. Their goal is to establish an environment that fosters children's intellectual and personal growth. The school aims to help the children develop into responsible and self-assured individuals who want to achieve their full potential. As a Year 1 Teaching Assistant, you will need to be creative in your approach to teaching and possess the capacity to provide pupils with positive and motivating support. Your roles and responsibilities: Support the classroom teacher and prepare resources for learning activities and assist students in their use. Uphold policies and procedures relating to safeguarding, child protection, data protection and behaviour management/pupil conduct. Develop solid relationships with students, teacher, and parents to provide feedback on the development and accomplishment of the students. Motivate students to participate in activities and engage with the class as well as promoting their competence and independence. Establish a calm, encouraging and positive learning environment in the classroom. Requirements: Experience in an educational setting or working with children is highly desirable. Must hold an enhanced DBS or be willing to obtain one. Have excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with students, parents, professionals/colleagues. Basic understanding of the national curriculum. Possess a high degree of teamwork proficiency and the ability to collaborate with others as well as work independently. High standard of numeracy/literacy skills. Have a genuine desire in helping children achieve academic success. Salary is dependent on experience, training, or qualifications. The minimum experience, training, or qualifications required for this position are recent school-based experience (within the last 5 years within a school that teaches the British Curriculum) and/or care-based experience within the last 5 years.
