Based in Watford, Hertfordshire our successful client is seeking a qualified accountant to join their growing team as Financial Reporting Manager on a 15-month fixed term contract.
This job would suit an ACA/ACCA/CIMA qualified accountant to play an integral role in leading the financial reporting function, providing coaching, support and challenge to enable development of 3 direct reports.
You will drive improvements across the financial reporting processes, ensuring accuracy while building strong relationships with key internal and external stakeholders.
The postholder needs to be experienced in mechanical and electrical works, delivering both service schedules and reactive works across a broad spectrum to include lifts, door entry systems, alarm call systems, fire safety equipment, water testing, gas energy systems and appliances, communal heating & hot water systems and alternative green renewable energy solutions such as ground and air source heat pumps, solar panels.
The role will primarily be responsible for the proper and efficient maintenance of the installations, plant and equipment across the housing stock.
This is a key role in terms of delivering services in compliance with health and safety requirements and is wide ranging and complex-covering planned maintenance, inspection and installation of equipment and services.
The chief Accountant will manage Finance Managers who look after capital accounting, and the closedown timetable plus act as the interface between the closing team, the rest of finance and other clients' departments.
We urgently seek a Chief Accountant for a public sector client to manage the closure of the Accounts team ensuring the accounts and related notes are produced in line with the statutory deadline and act as the main liaison point between the clients and its external auditors.
Specific responsibilities will include
Promotion, co-ordination and management of the Council's Corporate Closure of Accounts Programme, ensuring all tasks are completed on time.
The post holder, working with Epidemiologists, Scientists, Clinical and operational colleagues, will identify business intelligence and reporting needs and be responsible for ensuring delivery from system specification through to implementation and output production.
