Edward Mann are recruiting for a business operating in the Transport/Rail sector, based in South East London. Our client is looking to bring on a Head of Finance to lead the Finance function and effectively support business strategy. We're looking for a candidate who has proven experience in a similar level position, leading a Finance Team. Our client also offers an excellent benefits package. This position will report into the Finance Director. Overview of responsibilities: Lead, mentor, and develop the Finance Team (6) Oversee accurate and timely preparation of monthly management accounts and analysis of performance against budgets and forecasts. Manage the preparation of annual statutory accounts, maintaining effective relationships with external big4 auditors. Lead the budgeting and long-term financial planning process, preparing ad-hoc, annual and five-year plans. Business Partner with department managers to provide financial insights, helping them to manage their departments effectively within budget Constantly look to improve processes where possible, implementing efficient tools, processes and systems. Ensure financial policies and procedures re implemented to maintain strong internal controls. Oversee day-to-day accounting operations, including transactional and general ledger. Produce insightful financial analysis, using data to support with investment proposals and other business projects/improvements. Effectively manage cash-flow processes and ensure tax compliance, including VAT, corporation tax, and R&D. Support the development of business strategies, developing effective working relationships with senior stakeholders, internal and external. Enhance KPI analysis and reporting, prepare board materials, and support other activities as needed by the SMT. Lead and participate in ad-hoc projects and responsibilities as and when required.
