Edward Mann are recruiting for a leading Construction Group based in East London. Our client is looking to bring on a Head of Finance to lead the Finance function and effectively support business goals.
We're looking for a candidate who has proven experience in a similar level position. Our client also offers an excellent benefits package.
Overview of responsibilities:
- Lead, mentor, and develop a Finance Team (8-10)
- Oversee accurate and timely preparation of monthly management accounts and analysis of performance against budgets and forecasts.
- Manage the preparation of annual statutory accounts, maintaining effective relationships with external big4 auditors.
- Lead the budgeting and long-term financial planning process, preparing ad-hoc, annual and five-year plans.
- Business Partner with department managers to provide financial insights, helping them to manage their departments effectively within budget
- Constantly look to improve processes where possible, implementing efficient tools, processes and systems.
- Ensure financial policies and procedures re implemented to maintain strong internal controls.
- Oversee day-to-day accounting operations, including transactional and general ledger.
- Produce insightful financial analysis, using data to support with investment proposals and other business projects/improvements.
- Effectively manage cash-flow processes and ensure tax compliance, including VAT, corporation tax, and R&D.
- Support the development of business strategies, developing effective working relationships with senior stakeholders, internal and external.
- Enhance KPI analysis and reporting, prepare board materials, and support other activities as needed by the SMT.
- Lead and participate in ad-hoc projects and responsibilities as and when required.
Candidate requirements:
- Proven experience in a similar level 'headof', 'controller' or 'manager' (or similar) position in a Finance/Accounting Department
- Experienced in financial planning, reporting, improvement driving, budgeting, and overall strategic support
- Qualified Accountant (ACCA/ACA/CIMA, or equivalent), QBE also considered
- Previous team management experience is essential
