Job Title: Finance Assistant Company Overview: Join a dynamic and growing company committed to excellence. Key Responsibilities: Customers: Update customer invoices and credit notes as required, typically every second day. Process commercial invoices promptly and accurately. Record receipts from remittances efficiently. Provide assistance with any investigations or queries related to customer accounts. Potentially assist with handling customer calls regarding payment matters. Suppliers: Process supplier invoices, ensuring accurate matching to corresponding orders on Profit 4. Assist in investigating and resolving discrepancies in quantity or price on invoices, and handle invoices that cannot be entered into the system. Reconcile supplier statements and proactively address any issues or discrepancies. Follow up on disputes related to supplier invoices and ensure timely resolution. Admin: Handle any accounts-related administrative tasks as required, contributing to the smooth operation of the finance department. Qualifications and Skills: Previous experience in a similar accounts assistant or finance-related role preferred. Strong attention to detail and accuracy in data entry. Excellent organisational and time management skills. Proficiency in using accounting software and Microsoft Office. Ability to communicate effectively and professionally with internal and external stakeholders. Proactive problem-solving attitude and ability to work independently. The unseen possibilities are limitless, and it all starts with you. Become an Interim Financial Accountant An exciting opportunity is available for a Financial Accountant to join the finance team. Supporting the team through its annual reporting process on an initial 6-month basis, contributingto a number of process improvement projects to enhance the quality and efficiency of the group's financial reporting environment. The role will report directly to the Head of Financial Reporting & Controls but with dotted lines to the Financial Process Controller and our Financial Reporting Managers who will oversee the majority of the role's day to day duties. Your Mission Aiding the project management of the Annual Report process both internally across departments and externally with our auditors and design agency. Working with Financial Reporting Managers to draft the group & subsidiary financial statements. Providing high quality, accurate deliverables to external auditors. Drafting clear, understandable accounting papers to support the year-end audit. Supporting month end accounting, posting journals, and preparing balance sheet reconciliations. Assist in the enhancement of oversight of the group balance sheet and the development of regular CFO reporting. Advancing the group's control agenda through control identification, documentation, and operational testing. Working with the team's Internal Control Analyst to enhance the group's stock processes. Working with our external provider to own the group's utilities process to enhance the accuracy, timelines, and predictability of billing. Supporting the Head of Financial Reporting & Controls on maintaining the group's climate risk register and working with our advisors to prepare TCFD reporting. Support progressing process enhancement over the group's property balance sheet. Working with the commercial finance team to assist with the preparation of, and performance monitoring against annual budgets and quarterly forecasts. Skills/Behaviours That Will Set You Apart Essential: Qualified Accountant (ACA, ACCA, or CIMA) Strong all around accounting experience including external audit and financial control. Experience of IFRS and external reporting requirements. Inquisitive with an ability to quickly understand financial processes and propose & implement improvements. Confident with strong interpersonal skills and a demonstrated ability to communicate at all levels and with external parties. A self-starter with the desire to learn and strong attention to detail. Computer literate, with good financial modelling/spreadsheet skills. Retail industry experience is an advantage but not essential.
