Tax Assistant / Consultant - Newbury OfficePermanent, Full-Time Our client is a leading top 25 practice that has offices across the South of England. They are keen to hear from Tax professionals in the Newbury area, particularly those who are looking to specialise within the crypto space. Main duties: Administer a portfolio of clients including HNWI's, Partnerships and Trusts.Prepare tax returns for clients, be responsible for the file and return preparation prior to review by Director. Request and collate information, prepare and submit self-assessments for clients. Advise payment amounts and deadlines. Consider and advise on basic tax planning opportunities for clients. Maintain client relations through email and telephone contact, participate in client meetings. Assist other members of staff and directors with their tax queries. Encourage further reading if necessary. Correspond with HMRC concerning routine tax matters (i.e. tax codes, checking repayments / tax calculations), assist with the handling of HMRC enquiries. Undertake tax planning research projects under the direction of the Tax Director and Senior Tax Manager and prepare reports to summarise the project findings. Prepare capital gains tax calculations. Maintain share and asset pool database for relevant clients. Consider budgets and draft bills for Directors approval on own cases. Complete supported study and keep up to date with professional CPD requirements. Develop a keen understanding of crypto assets, relevant platforms and exchanges, transaction identification and tax software and reporting, to support the Senior Tax Manager. Assist with the P11D process for the firm's clients. Prepare and file P11D(b)'s and related in-year forms (such as the P46(car)) with HMRC. Prepare PAYE Settlement Agreements for review and submission to HMRC. Ensure compliance with the firm's Anti-money laundering and other policies.
