Gi Group are currently recruiting for a qualified Process Valve Technician based in Swansea. You will be responsible for the installation, maintenance, repair, and troubleshooting of process valves used in industrial settings. Your expertise in valve technology and mechanical systems will be essential in ensuring the safe and efficient operation of various processes within the client's facilities. Hours and Pay: Monday - Thursday 7.30am - 4pm Friday 7.30am - 1pm Hourly Rate: £14.50 per hour Location: Swansea Responsibilities of Valve Technician Remove, inspect, report, rebuild test, Install, and commission process valves according to engineering specifications and industry standards. Conduct routine maintenance tasks, including re-packing, lubrication, cleaning, and calibration, to ensure optimal valve performance and longevity. Diagnose and troubleshoot valve malfunctions, leaks, and operational issues; Perform repairs and replacement of valve components; Collaborate with operations, engineering and maintenance teams to develop preventive maintenance schedules and strategies for valve systems. Follow the QMS process and document and report electronically the valve condition; Conduct valve testing and performance evaluations to assess reliability, efficiency, and compliance with regulatory requirements. Document all maintenance activities. Adhere to health, safety and environmental standards at all times. Stay updated on advancements in valve technology, industry trends, and best practices through training, workshops, and professional development opportunities. Provide technical guidance and support to less experienced technicians and apprentices as needed. Qualifications and Experience of Valve Technician: Qualified Mechanical apprenticeship to NVQ level 3 or equivalent; vocational training or certification in mechanical engineering, industrial maintenance, or a related field preferred. HNC in mechanical engineering or equivalent preferred. Proven experience as a process valve technician or similar role in an industrial environment, with a strong understanding of valve types, functions, and applications. Proficiency in reading technical drawings, schematics, and blueprints to interpret valve specifications and installation requirements. Familiarity with valve testing equipment, diagnostic tools, and precision instruments used for troubleshooting and calibration. Strong mechanical aptitude to perform intricate valve repairs and adjustments accurately. Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail to identify root causes of valve failures and implement effective solutions. Effective communication skills, both verbal and written, to interact with clients, colleagues, and suppliers professionally.
