What you'll be doing:

  • Set a positive example by maintaining a consistently safe and efficient workplace.
  • Oversee and assign technician workloads effectively.
  • Ensure company quality standards are met, satisfying both internal and external customers.
  • Monitor Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) and ensure targets are achieved.
  • Conduct team briefs focused on quality, cost, and delivery, and gather ideas for improvement.
  • Manage workshop calibration and maintenance according to schedules.
  • Provide training to apprentices as needed.
  • Drive team performance by offering direction and feedback to enhance performance.
  • Maintain safe working practices and adhere to 'Standard Operations'.
  • Address non-conformance issues and implement countermeasures.
  • Motivate the team to foster a high-performance culture that embraces improvement suggestions.
  • Assist in implementing engineering changes, production trials, model changes, and pilot builds.
  • Report and take action on plant or machinery breakdowns.
  • Collaborate closely with the QEHS department on any issues.
  • Ensure internal delivery processes are followed to support dispatch.

And this is what you'll need:

  • Extensive experience and a proven track record in manufacturing supervision.
  • Proven experience of continuous improvement and problem-solving.
  • Comprehension of production costs, including waste, downtime, scrap, and rework would be advantageous.
  • Any experience in mechanical fitting would be advantageous.
