Infrastructure DBA We are currently hiring for an Infrastructure DBA with experience working on Unix Systems(Redhat/ AIX) to join one of our Insurance clients on a 6-month contract. Inside IR35 Hybrid- Travel to the office when required. Responsibilities:: Install and configure database software according to organizational needs. Set up database parameters, ensuring optimal performance. Perform regular database maintenance tasks, such as backups, restores, and index rebuilds. Monitor database performance and tune configurations as necessary. Implement and enforce security measures to protect sensitive data. Manage user access to databases, granting permissions as needed. Ensure compliance with data protection regulations. Identify and resolve database issues, such as performance bottlenecks or data corruption. Optimize SQL queries and database configurations for improved performance. Provide technical support to users and developers. Documentation and Reporting: Document database configurations, processes, and procedures. Generate reports on database performance, usage, and security. Collaborate with developers, system administrators, and other technical staff to ensure smooth integration of database systems. Experience: Proven experience as a Database Administrator or in a similar role. Experience working with Unix systems (RedHat/AIX). Experience working with Windows Servers. Proficiency in database management systems (e.g., Oracle, MySQL, MS SQL Server). Strong understanding of database design, normalization, and optimization. Knowledge of data security practices and principles. Experience with database backup and recovery procedures. Familiarity with SQL and database programming languages.
