Job Advert: Factory Maintenance Engineer - ON-GOING Our client, a leading player in the food industry, is seeking two Engineers to join their dynamic and innovative team. As an Engineer, you will perform reactive and proactive maintenance on a variety of process and packaging equipment across all sites. This exciting role will involve assessing, managing, and recording food safety risks related to breakdowns and engineering work. You will also introduce troubleshooting of breakdowns across the site to minimise downtime and support production to enhance production efficiency. In this role, you will be responsible for performing ancillary building maintenance across all sites and maintaining breakdown/preventive maintenance documentation. You will have the opportunity to contribute to various projects, including machinery and systems build, as well as upgrades to minor building works. Additionally, you will identify spares requirements and operate in a safe manner, prioritising the well-being of yourself and others. As an Engineer, you must be flexible in your approach to working hours to suit the business needs. This includes being available to work rotating shifts, with Week 1 from 6 am until 2 pm and Week 2 from 2 pm until 10 pm. One week in four, you will be required to work from 4: 30 am until 12:30 pm. Key Responsibilities: Perform reactive and proactive maintenance on process and packaging equipment. Assess, manage, and record food safety risks related to breakdowns. Introduce troubleshooting of breakdowns to minimise downtime. Support Production to enhance production efficiency. Perform ancillary building maintenance. Maintain breakdown/preventive maintenance documentation. Contribute to various projects, including machinery and systems build. Identify spares requirements. Operate in a safe manner, prioritising safety for yourself and others. Work shifts as necessary to cover the operation. Be open to a flexible approach to hours based on business needs. Drive a lean and effective PPM system. Ensure stock levels of critical spares are maintained. Actively pursue improvement opportunities for safety, cost, performance, and reliability. Populate and maintain technical records, OEM manuals, and electrical drawings. Monitor equipment reliability and performance data. Deliver a 'best in class' workshop and tools facility. Undertake necessary training as requested by the company. Comply with legal and company Health & Safety requirements. Perform dynamic risk assessments to ensure safe practises. Monitor work by contractors to ensure compliance with Risk Assessments and Method Statements. Utilise the Permit to Work system and manage it accordingly. Ensure effective communication with workshop staff and management. Fill in daily work sheets and assist in the operation of a planned maintenance programme. Install new or overhauled machinery in a safe and proper manner. Maintain maintenance standards to comply with food procedures requirements. To be successful in this role, you should have a strong background in engineering or a related field. Experience in the food industry is highly desirable. Additionally, you must possess excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills, as well as effective communication abilities. A valid driving licence is also required for this position. ROLE: SETTING OUT ENGINEER/ SITE ENGINEER LOCATION PORTSMOUTH START 15/7/24 9 MONTHS RATE £300-350 PER DAY - DEPENDING IF YOU SUPPLY OWN KIT We require an experienced site engineer for our civils groundworks client.
