Design Engineer - Stafford - Up to £30/hr - Inside IR35
Jonathan Lee Recruitment has an exciting opportunity for a skilled and collaborative Design Engineer to join one of the world's leading manufacturers of off-highway machinery and diesel and natural gas engines.
As a Design Engineer, you will contribute to the design and development of new product concepts and complex engineering projects. You will design and develop engine components and systems to release to production promptly to ensure products provide superior performance, durability, quality, optimised cost and serviceability.
The role mainly will be focussed on cost down opportunities, looking at design of the engines and coming up with cost effective, innovative ways to reduce costs.
In your first few weeks in this engineering role, you can expect to:
- Research new materials and competitive products
- Organise, coordinate, and execute the building, testing, and analysis of prototypes
- Assist supply specialists and buyers with supplier development and supplier performance
- Lead and support DFMEA and DVP&R creation
- Provide effective technical solutions to routine functional challenges via sound technical competence
To apply for this Design Engineer role, your soft skills, expertise and experience should include:
- 3D modelling experience
- 2D drawing experience
- Knowledge of Creo / AutoCAD
- Team Centre experience would be a plus but not essential
- Experience in Diesel / spark ignited engine design
- Product Development experience
