The successful candidate will be responsible for assessing, testing, and fault-finding microelectronic circuits, ensuring all test work is performed correctly, to the correct standards, and within a timely manner. Key Responsibilities: Implement ESD / Static safe working practices. Set up Automatic Test Equipment (ATE) station. Test microelectronic circuits using Automatic Test Equipment to ensure functionality and reliability of electronic components. Conduct testing and fault-finding on non-functioning printed circuit boards and electronic modules/components to identify issues and repair if appropriate. Work independently to complete functional tests of microelectronic circuits to specification. Maintain Test Program and Burn-in database log. Ensure test results are reported as required by internal and external standards. Control environmental testing - Burn-in, Temperature Cycling, Acceleration, data loggers, etc. Check equipment is fit for purpose - run self-tests, monitor test equipment, and segregate faulty equipment, liaising with Engineering/Process Engineering functions to resolve issues. Report inconsistencies or discrepancies in any findings of equipment or procedures. Collaborate with other departments as needed. Skills and Abilities: Efficient and accurate testing, fault-finding, and repair abilities. Experience in testing and fault-finding electronic circuits. Working knowledge and experience of using test equipment (Power supplies, Voltmeters, Oscilloscopes, function generators). Proficiency in complex electrical wiring and electronics schematics. Excellent verbal and written communication skills to liaise with staff at all levels with technical and non-technical understanding. Strong problem-solving skills. Ability to work accurately and effectively under pressure and meet deadlines. Good computer literacy in Windows and Linux with standard office applications and custom applications. Commitment to safety, quality, and continuous improvement. Positive, proactive, and flexible work ethic. Qualifications: Suitable candidates will have worked within an Electronics Test role previously and ideally hold qualifications in a relevant electronics/engineering discipline. Electronics Repair Technician Gloucestershire I'm currently working with an Electronics manufacturer who specialise in Industrial automation applications. They are currently looking for a Electronics repair technician to be part of the R & D and production team. As an Electronic Technician, your role involves collaborating with our design engineers. You'll be responsible for aiding in the assembly and testing of prototypes and small production runs of equipment. Additionally, you'll troubleshoot electronics and electromechanical devices. Job Title: Electronic Test Technician Contract: 12 months Location: Farnborough, UK The Test Technician will troubleshoot, test and assemble electronic equipment. They will Assist in configuring, preparing, maintaining, utilizing, and or designing test stations and test equipment. They will perform electronic testing with instructions and documentation from the engineering team. They may prepare basic documentation and prototype assembly. As a Test Technician, you will be responsible for: Conducting manual and automated testing of electronic circuits and sub-assemblies. Fault-finding to component level on PCB's using related equipment, e.g. Oscilloscope and DVM Supporting the production team with occasional electronics assembly support. Providing testing feedback to the production team to help drive continuous improvement. Testing of equipment including Electrical safety checks e.g., Megger & flash testing Supporting the Assembly of Electronics Test and Measurement equipment. To be successful in this role you will: Have an Electronic based apprenticeship, HNC or equivalent experience. Have considerable experience working in an Electronics Lab or Bench environment as a Test Technician or Engineer. Be able to fault find electronic circuits to a component level using supporting documentation. Have a good foundation in electronics circuit theory, either through an apprenticeship, industry or academia.
