Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) Position: Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) Location: South Liverpool Start Date: September 2024 Type: Full-Time Our dynamic and inclusive primary school in South Liverpool is looking for a dedicated and experienced Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) to join our team. This full-time role involves working 1:1 with key pupils, taking whole-class sessions, including PPA (Planning, Preparation, and Assessment), and reading, phonics and intervention sessions. Key Responsibilities: Lead targeted intervention groups to support students in achieving their learning goals. Provide 1:1 support for pupils, adapting teaching strategies to meet individual needs. Take responsibility for whole-class sessions during PPA time or for specific subjects such as reading. Collaborate with teachers to plan and deliver high-quality educational experiences. Assess and monitor student progress, providing feedback to teachers and parents. Support the implementation of individualised education plans (IEPs) for students with special educational needs (SEN). Contribute to creating a positive, inclusive, and supportive learning environment. Qualifications and Skills: HLTA status or equivalent qualification. Experience working in a primary school setting. Strong communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to lead groups and manage whole-class sessions effectively. Patience, empathy, and a genuine passion for supporting children's learning and development. Strong organisational and time management skills. Commitment to fostering an inclusive and supportive learning environment. Hold an enhanced DBS on the update service or be willing to undertake a new one.
