Position: 1:1 Teaching Assistant
Location: South Liverpool Primary School
Start Date: September 2024

Are you passionate about making a positive difference in the life of a child? Do you have experience working with young learners and providing personalised support to help them succeed? If so, we have an exciting opportunity for you to join our team as a 1:1 Teaching Assistant at a nurturing primary school in South Liverpool.

The Role:

As a 1:1 Teaching Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting a child in Key Stage 1 with their learning and development. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Providing one-to-one support to the child, helping them to access the curriculum and make progress in their learning.
  • Implementing individualised learning plans and strategies to support the child's specific needs.
  • Building a positive and trusting relationship with the child, fostering their confidence and self-esteem.
  • Collaborating with the class teacher and SENCO to ensure that the child's needs are met and that they are fully included in classroom activities.
  • Monitoring and assessing the child's progress, providing feedback to the class teacher and parents/guardians as necessary.

Requirements:

  • Previous experience working as a Teaching Assistant or in a similar role, ideally with experience supporting children with special educational needs.
  • A genuine passion for working with children and supporting their learning and development.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with children, parents, and colleagues.
  • Patience, empathy, and the ability to adapt your approach to meet the individual needs of the child.
  • Flexibility and a willingness to work collaboratively as part of a team.
  • Hold an enhanced DBS on the update service or be willing to undertake a new one.
