This will be a technically varied role with the chance to be exposed to some of the most prestigious construction/fitout/refurbishment projects across a broad range of market sectors in and around London Duties: Receive Architect's drawings and turn them into X-refs for our use. Create/maintain our companies Audio Visual, Passive Infrastructure, Security & Smart building drawings. Help maintain/improve standards across all drawings. Make sure all information on the drawings is up to date and correct before issuing. Assist the consultants with any design requirements they need i.e equipment detail drawings, SER layouts etc. Attending meetings where applicable. Skills / Requirements: Basic understanding of AutoCAD. Experience with working with floor plans and elevations. Experience with Microsoft Office software, specifically Excel. Understanding of Microsoft SharePoint. Time Management - able to work to a deadline. Good Communication Skills. This is a newly-created Design Manager opportunity for a fantastic Tier 2 main contractor. This position has been created as a result of an increase in pipeline across residential, commercial, and hospitality sectors. The role will be largely London based but some WFH can be arranged. This position will offer the successful applicant the chance to take on a broad role with a high degree of responsibility on large scale projects. Client Details Our client is a well-established, international main contractor. They operate in a wide range of sectors across the UK and Europe. Their South business in the UK has a strong track record within the residential market and expertise within commercial, hospitality, and healthcare schemes. The Design Team benefits from a relatively flat structure which affords Design Managers the opportunity to gain significant exposure and decision making input on large scale projects. Generally, roles will be site based but some WFH can be negotiated. Description As the Design Manager in this role you would work cradle-to-grave on projects such as: Large-scale residential new build of 5 blocks, including 2 towers Community centre redevelopment with listed building refurbishment 12 storey hotel new build and luxury residential units Your cradle-to-grave role would encompass: Design team appointment (if relevant) and ongoing management Subcontractor appointment and management Coordination of technical information and build details for site team Design change management Management of RFIs and generation of build solutions as necessary Oversight of project handover Profile This role could suit: A project lead/Associate level architect with experience of delivering residential, commercial, or hospitality projects from stages 3 to handover A Design Coordinator from a main contractor looking to step up into a broader role with more responsibility A Design Manager looking for a new challenge within a new sector or on larger scale projects You must have the right to work in the UK and will be comfortable with a role mostly based on site in London.
