As a Youth Mentor you will play a key role in the educational development and well-being of individuals who would benefit from targeted 1:1 support and group intervention. Job Title: Consultant in Public Health (Part Time, 3 days a week) Industry: Public sector Location: Barking and Dagenham, London Contract Type: Temporary Contract Length: 12 months Salary: £750 per day / hybrid working available As a Consultant in Public Health, you will be responsible for providing expert advice on population health, working closely with key stakeholders to develop and implement innovative strategies. Your role will involve analysing data, identifying areas for improvement, and leading initiatives to promote positive health outcomes for the local community. This is a senior change agent role, where the postholder is expected to be responsible for improving or changing environments or services to improve health. Key responsibilities include: Collaborating with colleagues and partner organisations to develop and implement evidence-based policies and interventions Providing public health leadership alongside external stakeholders and the wider care system in the local place-based partnership, in order to put population health and addressing health inequalities as its core goal Conducting research and analysis to identify health trends and inequalities within the local population Providing expert advice on public health matters to internal and external stakeholders Lead on population health management ensuring that prevention and inequalities are firmly embedded in local strategies and plans. Contribute to the production of an independent annual report on the health of the local population of and the Joint Strategic Needs Assessment Leading projects and initiatives aimed at improving health and social outcomes for residents Monitoring and evaluating the impact of interventions, and making recommendations for improvement Work closely with regional public health organisations and other relevant organisations to ensure high levels of local resilience Representing the organisation at external meetings and events, sharing best practises and contributing to the wider public health agenda To be successful in this role, you must have: Previous experience in a public health setting, with a focus on addressing health inequalities Experience of using complex information to explain public health issues to a range of audiences Delivery of successful change management programmes Strong and demonstrable understanding of interfaces between health, social care and key partners Excellent analytical and research skills, with the ability to interpret complex data Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage and influence stakeholders at all levels A proactive and innovative approach, with the ability to lead and drive change This is a part-time role, working 3 days a week for a contract length of 12 months.
