Role Overview : We are seeking a passionate Tutor & Cover Supervisor to work across an SEMH setting, providing essential academic tutoring in core subjects and covering lessons in a supportive environment. The role will be based in Cambridge and Wisbech, and candidates will need to be able to drive due to the nature of the role. Key Responsibilities: Tutoring Deliver tutoring in core curriculum subjects, including Maths, English, Functional Skills, and PSHE, to small groups of students. Tailor lessons to meet the individual needs of students, providing personalised support to enhance their academic progress. Help students develop key skills in numeracy, literacy, and personal development to build confidence and independence. Cover Supervision (Remaining time): Supervise students during lessons in the absence of a regular teacher, ensuring that students remain on task and follow the set work. Maintain a positive, calm, and productive learning environment, managing behaviour effectively in an SEMH setting. Provide support to students who may need extra help with their work or additional guidance throughout the day. What We Are Looking For: Previous experience working with children, ideally in an SEMH or alternative provision setting. DBS (or the willingness to apply) Eligibility to work in the UK. Strong knowledge of the core curriculum, particularly Maths, English, and Functional Skills. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage and motivate students. Patience, empathy, and the ability to support students with diverse needs, particularly in an SEMH setting. A proactive and adaptable approach, with a commitment to creating a positive and inclusive learning environment.
