My client is a top 60 UK law firm, with their Employment team at the forefront of the industry, that enjoys a stellar reputation in the market and is consistently recognized for its excellence in legal rankings. As such, the team are in growth mode, and have an opportunity for an Employment Associate or Senior Associate to join their office in Cheltenham. The role is ideally based in the Cheltenham office, but flexibility is provided for candidates interested in working from the Worcester or Birmingham offices, with occasional travel to Cheltenham. The Role: Advising on Employment Law: The primary responsibility involves providing legal advice on a range of employment law issues within the education sector. This could include matters such as employee contracts, disputes, and compliance with relevant employment legislation. Collaboration and Communication: Working closely with colleagues and educational institutions to offer practical and effective legal solutions. Effective communication and collaboration are crucial for understanding the unique needs and challenges faced by schools and colleges. Sector-Specific Knowledge Development: Staying abreast of developments in employment law specific to the education sector. This involves continuous learning and collaboration with team members to share insights and expertise. Client Support: Offering support to over 400 educational establishments and providing advice on issues that are pertinent to the sector. This might involve attending to legal concerns related to staff, policies, or other employment-related matters. Business Development: Actively participating in business development activities to foster growth. This includes identifying and pursuing opportunities for referral of work across different areas of the firm. The Candidate: Legal Qualifications: A qualified solicitor with a focus on employment law, ideally with experience or a strong interest in the education sector.
