Job Title: CNC Operative, Setter, 5 Axes Machine Centre Location: Stoke-on-Trent Salary: £30,000 - £36,000 per annum Hours: Monday to Friday, 08:00am - 16:45pm, 15 minute morning break and 30 minute lunch break Are you an experienced CNC Operative looking for a new opportunity? Workchain is currently recruiting for a CNC programmer and operator of 5 axis machining cenres to join our client in, Stoke-on-Trent. The role will suit an ambitious individual who wants to be a senior member of the production team with a responsibility for key CNC assets. Predominantly the daily tasks involve online and offline programming and will also involve setting and operating. Key Responsibilities: - Extensive precision experience - Can fully programme complex parts - Operating, setting and programming up to 5 axis. - 3D CAD drawing of 3D models - CAM programming experience with 3, 4 and 5 axis level operations - Familiar with programing code and able to edit programs with confidence - Experience of milling Qualifications: - At least 5 years of experience programming and operating 4 and 5 axis machining centres - An in depth knowledge of Siemens or NUM control systems or similar - A high level of CAD experience using leading CAD software such as SolidWorks, PRO E, or similar - Programming/CAM experience using SolidCam or similar, to an advanced machining level - Problem solving skills with the ability to assist in the evaluation and repair of machine break down If you meet the qualifications and responsibilities listed above, we want to hear from you! You will also be required to complete production related tasks as directed by the Team Leader. Successful candidates will have the below skills and experience: Used twin spindle Lathes, live tooling in the x and z axis and lathes with XYZ and C axis Understanding of G and M codes to complete online edits during a set up Understand wear offsets and ability to change inserts while job is in WIP Have an understanding of Fanuc controls Attention to detail (selecting tooling, faultless set up, Right First-Time inspection process and notice defected components during WIP) Proven experience as a CNC operator/setter/programmer Skilled with an understanding of operating workshop machinery, tooling and precision measuring equipment Ability to read and interpret mechanical documents and engineering drawings Computer literate with an understanding of computer programming Mechanical aptitude and good mathematical skills A keen eye for detail Good communication skills Team player with ability to take on individual tasks as required Ability to work to deadlines and targets Full time ongoing position with Monday to Friday working hours 8.00am-4.30pm Mon-Thurs with a 3.30pm finish on Friday
