This is an exciting opportunity for a Contract Mechanical Design Engineer - Solidworks to support a well-known manufacturer of offshore machinery based in Glasgow. This role has an indicative OUTSIDE IR35 determination therefore we can accept candidates who would like to operate through their own PSC. Our customer designs, assembles, tests and installs offshore machinery used around the world. You will provide support on a new project and will manage the transition into full production. The role offers flexibility to work on a hybrid basis; 3 days on site. Oversee the procurement of materials and subcontractor services, negotiating contracts and agreements as needed. Conduct regular site visits to monitor progress, resolve issues, and ensure compliance with safety and quality standards. Prepare and maintain project documentation, including contracts, change orders, and progress reports. Identify and mitigate project risks, implementing strategies to minimize disruptions and delays. Foster positive relationships with clients and stakeholders, addressing concerns and promoting customer satisfaction. Requirements: Proven experience as a Contracts Manager in the construction industry, with a focus on steel fabrication and installation.
