Are you a Senior Support Worker looking for a new role? Do you have experience supporting children in a Residential Setting? Reed are working with a family run provider of residential care for children with SEMH who are looking for a dedicated Senior Residential Support Worker to join our team in the MK6 area of Milton Keynes. This role involves supporting the children in activities, education, and statutory meetings, and leading a team to ensure a therapeutic approach to care. The ideal candidate will have experience in residential settings and be adept at working within legal and company policies, maintaining high standards, and safeguarding the welfare of young people at all times. Senior Residential Support Worker Location: MK6, Milton Keynes Salary: £26,520- £27,040 depending on experience and Level 5 NVQ status Shift pattern: 0800-2300 plus sleep-in, 1 day on, 2 days off rolling rota Day to Day of the role: Provide high-quality care and activities that support the physical, emotional, and social needs of young people. Lead and manage shifts, ensuring effective deployment of staff and maintaining a therapeutic environment. Contribute to and implement care plans, risk assessments, and participate in reviews and meetings. Maintain accurate records, including daily case records, communication logs, and incident reports. Liaise with educational and multi-disciplinary teams, as well as external providers, to ensure integrated service delivery. Support the business, clinical, and social development of the service, and assist in leading staff to operate within legal parameters. Required Skills & Qualifications: Good standard of written and spoken English. NVQ Level 3 in Residential Childcare Experience with young people who have challenging behaviours Experience supervising care staff and completing LAC reports. Knowledge of the problems that children and young people can face, including the effects of abuse and oppression. Ability to use initiative, exercise sound judgment, and maintain confidentiality.
