We have an exciting opportunity for a Lead Commission Engineer to join our Commissioning Team within Ireland & Europe to work on various projects including Data Centres within Europe. AVK-SEG was founded in 1989 and were initially the UK specialists for both the AVK and SEG product ranges including protection relays for grid applications. We quickly established a reputation as experts in Diesel Rotary UPS systems (DRUPS), which became our core business for several years. We recognised early the shift in the marketplace towards Static power protection systems and set up an exclusive partnership agreement with one of Europe's largest manufacturers to supply and maintain large numbers of their equipment in the UK, which enabled us to build on our reputation but also increase our brand recognition. The role of the Commissioning Engineer is to provide technical assistance to the Project Director, Commissioning Manager, Engineering Manager and Project Managers to enable technical submittals and drawings to be prepared during the project life cycle, supervision of installations and final commissioning, testing and handover to the client. As the suitable candidate you will have previous experience working with generators and relevant controls. Responsibilities Include: To review client/customer technical specifications and drawings, working closely with the project team. Carry out site surveys and produce reports. Carry out generator factory acceptance testing Supervise the installation of generator systems. Complete testing and commissioning of generator systems to customer, consultants, and end user. Commissioning activities are performed on every piece of equipment or system in accordance with customers specifications and to make certain all test results are acceptable and permanently recorded and distributed correctly. Provide and carry out customer / end user training as required. Provide technical support in the production of risk assessments, method statements and test documents. Provide technical support and assistance to internal engineering department teams. Full driving licence Good fault-finding abilities with strong communication skills Previous experience in both single and multiple HV generator systems Great customer awareness with the ability to respond to customer requirements effectively and efficiently. As a Package Manager for Fire & Protection Systems, you will be responsible for managing all aspects of fire and protection system projects, from initial design to final installation and commissioning. You will collaborate closely with our client, engineers, suppliers, and other stakeholders to ensure successful project delivery, adhering to industry standards and regulations. Key Responsibilities: Manage the entire lifecycle of fire and protection system projects, including design, procurement, installation, testing, and commissioning. Collaborate with clients, engineers, suppliers, and contractors to define project requirements and specifications. Create detailed project plans, schedules, and budgets, ensuring timely and cost-effective project delivery. Oversee the design and engineering of fire and protection systems, ensuring compliance with industry standards and regulations. Coordinate procurement activities, including supplier evaluation, negotiation, and selection of equipment and materials. Monitor project progress, identify and mitigate risks, and troubleshoot any issues that may arise during project execution. Manage and lead a team of engineers, providing guidance, support, and technical expertise. Review and approve engineering designs, drawings, and documentation to ensure accuracy and adherence to project requirements. Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations and maintain a safe working environment throughout the project. Provide regular project updates to stakeholders, ensuring effective communication and proper project documentation. Requirements: Bachelor's degree or higher in Engineering or a related field. Proven experience (typically 5 years) in managing fire and protection system projects. In-depth knowledge of fire and protection system design, installation, and commissioning. Strong project management skills, including planning, scheduling, budgeting, and resource management. Excellent leadership and team management abilities, with the ability to motivate and guide a team of engineers. Proficiency in relevant software and tools related to fire and protection system design and project management. Knowledge of industry standards, codes, and regulations related to fire and protection systems. Strong problem-solving and analytical skills, with the ability to address complex engineering challenges. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively collaborate with stakeholders. Ability to work well under pressure and meet project deadlines.
