Salary : Competitive Benefits Location : Blyth Hybrid Working : No, this role is on site 5 days a week Working Hours : Mon Thurs 08:30-17:00 / Fri 08:30-14:00 Holidays : 27 days plus bank holidays DAY TO DAY As the IT Systems Engineer you will have operated in a similar role providing 2nd and 3rd line support for 2 years. You will develop, and configure enterprise infrastructure and business services, ensuring data integrity and security while identifying and implementing best practices and technical standards. You'll analyse current technology environments for improvements and contribute to technical project delivery. YOUR TECH SKILLS & EXPERIENCE Hardware Support: Troubleshooting and repairing physical devices such as desktops, laptops, printers, and other peripherals. Managing hardware installations and upgrades. Software Support: Resolving issues with operating systems and standard office applications. Supporting specialized software used within the organization. Network Support: Addressing connectivity issues and ensuring network reliability. Configuring and maintaining network devices such as routers, switches, and firewalls. User Account Management: Handling user account creation, modification, and deletion. Managing permissions and access controls. Security: Implementing and maintaining antivirus and anti-malware solutions. Monitoring for security breaches and addressing vulnerabilities. Communication Systems: Supporting email systems and VoIP telephony. Managing collaboration tools like instant messaging and video conferencing. Backup and Recovery: Ensuring regular data backups and maintaining backup systems. Assisting in data recovery efforts when necessary Documentation and Reporting: Maintaining detailed records of issues and resolutions. Providing reports on recurring problems and suggesting improvements. YOUR SOFT SKILLS Though the technical skills are important, the personality fit is key. Working across a small team being adaptable and flexible is paramount. Though plans are often in place the nature of the environment can lead to unexpected incidents and the importance of keeping production up and running is paramount. Ability to analyse complex systems and identify areas for improvement. Aptitude for resolving technical issues efficiently. Capacity to work effectively in teams, often in pressure situations. A desire to explore new technologies and methodologies to enhance infrastructure. An ability to convey technical information clearly to non-technical stakeholders.
