Day to Day Duties of the Business Development Manager: Develop and implement a marketing and business development strategy targeting both existing and potential clients. Conduct thorough research to understand the needs and structures of prospective clients. Plan and execute projects, ensuring successful delivery in line with agreed schedules, quality, and budget. Represent the firm professionally and manage associated activities effectively. Create compelling credentials and pitches, advising partners on strategy for bids and tenders. Identify and exploit opportunities to win work for the firm. Administer the creation of sector-specific content, campaigns, events, and other profile-raising activities. Organise and attend marketing events, recording their uptake and success rate. Collaborate with the Marketing Manager to update web pages and social media. Required Skills & Qualifications of the Business Development Manager: Previous experience in a legal, accountancy, management consultancy, property/construction, financial services firm, or other regulated industry. Proven track record of achieving targets and developing effective strategies within a consultative sales role. Experience working with senior management to understand objectives and negotiate consensus. Proficiency in digital tools for targeted and wider audience outreach. Strong relationship-building skills, both internally and externally. Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills. Competency in project management tools (e.g., MS Project). Purpose of the Business Development Manager role; To identify, win, and develop revenue opportunities for training business. Main duties and responsibilities of the Business Development Manager role Owns and is directly responsible for achieving revenue targets both for existing accounts and for new business. Personal revenue target of £150k in the first year. In partnership with Solution Partners provides an excellent account management service to key strategic accounts. Proactively monitors existing revenue activity and demonstrates understanding of people issues in client's business to successfully convert training needs into business. Alternatively, must demonstrate track record of selling training solutions internally within an organisation and influencing at board level. High level of business acumen Ability to influence and work with senior decision-makers in major corporations with the confidence to present at board level. Professional attitude and appearance, able to represent the company at major customer events, trade shows and exhibitions. Essential competencies selling and negotiating, influencing and impact, achievement drive and customer focus. Goal-focused and experienced in working in a target-orientated role Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build relationships with internal and external clients.
