This role has a starting salary of £40,296 per annum, based on a 36 hour working week. This is a 6-month fixed term contract/ secondment opportunity with the possibility of an extension. To do this you will be pro-active with a structured, methodical and collaborative approach, combined with the ability to distinguish the root cause of a problem from symptoms. Engaging with stakeholders across Surrey County Council and our partners, you will use your excellent interpersonal skills to quickly build relationships and possess the strong communication skills needed to understand, document and articulate problems, processes or business requirements and reach a common understanding. Activities will vary according to each project and could include problem definition, business process/data modelling, requirements definition, data analysis, business process improvement or business acceptance testing. Shortlisting Criteria To be considered for shortlisting for this position, your application will clearly evidence the following: Previous experience as a Business Analyst working with business users to understand business change needs and analyse the impact of change requests. Ability to understand, document and improve business processes. Experience of eliciting, analysing and documenting business requirements using standard business analysis techniques, such as the BCS. Analytical thinker with excellent attention to detail, and a strong personal drive to deliver high standards, best practices and documentation. Business Insights Analyst Responsibilities: As a Business Insights Analyst, you will play a crucial role in supporting the Sales team across various sectors. Your responsibilities include: Strategic Support: Provide insightful internal and external trend analysis related to customers, products, and sectors. Report on pricing accuracy, adoption of new product listings, and maximize return on investment for our customers. Collaborate with the Head of Business Insights and the Business Insights Business Partner to support sales or procurement teams during tenders. Education: Bachelor's or equivalent degree in a relevant field (e.g., Statistics, Business, Economics, MBA, Mathematics, Computer Science, Finance, Engineering). IT Aptitude: Strong IT skills and familiarity with integrated ERP systems (preferably Microsoft Dynamics 365 and Power BI). Industry Background: Ideally, experience in FMCG, retail, or other fast-paced entrepreneurial settings. Knowledge and Skills: Analytical Abilities: Excellent analytical skills combined with effective communication and collaboration. Exceptional planning and multitasking abilities to manage diverse day-to-day needs and deadlines. Proactive Approach: Self-starter with independent thinking, capable of working both independently and as part of a team.
