Main purpose of position
The post holder will provide high level administration support and information to the Strategy, Engagement & Implementation.

Prepare and co-ordinate annual revenue and capital estimates, work with budget managers to monitor those budgets throughout the year, and close the accounts on an annual basis for a distinct area of the Council's accounts OR for an area of specialism, and be fully responsible for the planning and maintenance of own workload and for projects in respect of this.

To organise and supervise a Street Cleansing crew and to ensure that street cleansing operations are carried out within the Borough of Luton.
PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES
Clear all litter and dumped items within the Borough of Luton, the cleansing contract and provision of services under Best Value, including manual and mechanical sweeping, litter picking, wet washing, litter bin cleansing, clearing garage sites, clearing waste land, clearing up after special events, and clearing up after Road Traffic Accidents, weed spraying and gully cleansing.
Undertake daily routine safety and maintenance checks to the vehicle to ensure that compliance to the Road Traffic Act and Transport Policy are kept to.
To carry out a comprehensive range of electrical repairs across various sectors including domestic property, high rise, industrial units etc under guidance from a senior electrician or supervisor.

Working with broad guidance to complete a comprehensive range of electrical repairs and refurbishments within contract conditions, timescales and cots.

The post will play a key role in ensuring that that all records, databases and other systems are kept up to date and that service and customer requests are actioned appropriately in line with relevant procedures and polices.
