New Business Development Manager Our client is a $200m US owned market leader in total joint integrity, manufacturing and supplying static sealing solutions, delivering high quality industrial gaskets on a global scale, as well as software, training, quality services, consultancy and expertise in related industry areas like bolting, machining and leak detection. We' re looking to recruit a technically astute New Business Development Manager to an exciting new role with the aim of growing an existing $4m business to $10m in five years. Initially this will cover the UK (c.24m), cross/up-selling to close to 900 existing customer COMAH registered businesses, then develop across new European and the Eastern Hemisphere territories, alongside a US and Western Hemisphere counterpart. Technically focussed and applying engineering knowledge, as New Business Development Manager you will engage with customers' and prospects (end users, engineers and OEMs) providing solutions ensure the best products and services are specified and adopted. Your main duties will include: New Business Development activities across the UK - owning the process from prospecting, cold-calling and responding to demonstration requests through to order and implementation Driving customer and partner acquisition - generating new sales revenues via technical specification Developing business to target key customers in Oil and Gas, PetroChem, Hydrogen, Marine, Solar, Nuclear and more Establishing Sales and Marketing plans and ensure the achievement through regular oversight, definition and implementation of improvement plans as needed Monitoring, managing and executing Sales and Marketing processes with lead generation qualification, product/service selection and sales process, negotiations and closing of deals Creating a social media following, influencing customers and prospects Collaborating with various functions such as application team, marketing team, customer service and supply chain team to ensure sufficient resources for the target market, and to align with the company goals and processes Responsible for the sales executive plan, marketing plan and product plan for the region Overseeing competitive analysis and market segment definition activities. High responsibility on behalf of company for any event or needs to be addressed in the region e.g. market analysis, competition, customer satisfaction improvement etc. As New Business Development Manager you'll need: A solid track record of success, establishing and building strong new customer relationships and market knowledge gained in a similar business-to-business, industrial Business Development Manager, Senior Sales Executive, Sales Engineer, Applications Engineer or related role. Software demonstration and sales experience advantageous. A consultative, solutions and value-based approach to selling bespoke solutions Relevant technical and market knowledge - technology-oriented, perhaps working in downstream oil and gas operations and/or seals, gaskets, valves, pumps, filtration and similar Bachelor's or above in mechanical, hydraulic engineering, or similar. Provide constructive feedback and suggestions for the continual improvement of the Business Development function and the business overall. What we are looking for from you: Previously worked in a similar business development role within the legal services industry. Able to demonstrate a credible track record of delivering continual growth within a B2B sales role. Experience of key account management, specifically identifying, building and maintaining relationships within a customer focused professional services environment. Experience of generating own B2B leads and Strong sales skills with the ability to effectively convert a high percentage of leads. Ability to work to and meet set targets both independently and as part of a sales team. Excellent organisational and communication skills and is able to develop professional long-lasting relationships with clients. Can work autonomously and structure your own day.
