The Boots dispensing support pharmacy is a highly advanced automated pharmacy based in Preston. On a daily basis we compile circa 106k prescriptions for the general public which are dispatched back to stores across the country ready for customers to collect. The DSP is a highly bespoke and unique operation, and the role of an operative is a hybrid of traditional warehousing and pharmacy roles.What you will be doing?Working within the DSP your days will be fast paced as you support the operation conducting several tasks in various areas throughout the day. You will be part of a large team working closely together to ensure prescriptions are assembled accurately and with patient safety at the heart. Typical duties will be picking and sorting medication so that it can be automated into individual customer orders. Operating windowsThe Pharmacy is located at Walton Summit Preston and is co-located as part of the Alliance Boots group. The site is open Monday to Saturday from 0600-2200.Currently, we have two part-time positions available. The first entails working 15 hours per week on Mondays and Saturdays. The second opportunity is 22.5 hours per week, distributed over three days, including Mondays, Saturdays, and one additional weekday to be determined.Working hours are 6am to 2pm and 2pm till 10pm and you will need to be available to work across both these shift patterns.Skills/experience required:Experience of working within a fast-paced environmentExperience within warehousing, production or pharmacy would be advantageous but isn't essentialExcellent attention to detailGood communication skillsPunctuality and timekeeping are essentialGood organisational, planning and people skillsA good level of numeracy and literacyYour safety within the workplace is paramount therefore you'll need to work in a safe manner with the safety of colleagues in mind at all times.What we offerIf you're looking for a unique job opportunity, then this role might be just what you're looking for!
