We are recruiting for Licensing officers/Administrators to work as part of the Pirvate hire vehicle licensing department within City of Wolverhampton Council. Pay rate: 12.59 per hour/ 37.5 hours per week. Location: Bilston Contract length: 3 to 6 months with potential extention Job Purpose and role: Under the general direction of the Section Leader to assist in the processing of applications for licences, permits, registration etc. received by the Council. Duties and Responsibilities: To contribute to the efficient and effective operation of Licensing Services. To ensure that appropriate fees are received and that records correctly represent transactions. Provide an efficient and responsive customer service, with advice and information via the telephone and in person to the public, local business and other council officers on licence activities carried out by Licensing Services. To process and issue applications for licences and registrations issued by the Council. Operate and maintain registers, records and statistics both manual and computer systems. Answer telephone calls and personal enquiries. Prepare and provide standard/routine letters and memoranda as required. Attend meetings, conferences and seminars as required. To prepare and present reports to appropriate officers and Members. The postholder will be required to undertake duties based on the needs of the service outside normal office hours or directed by the Head of Service in accordance with the agreed work pattern and Council's Conditions of Service. To act in accordance with the Council's Constitution and other Codes of Conduct. To participate in staff development, appraisal and training as appropriate, including continuous professional development. To comply with the Council's agreed policies and procedures including but not limited to Health and Safety, and Equal Opportunities Policies, the Data Protection Act, Freedom of Information Act, Financial Management Regulations and other relevant Council and Government Regulations, Directives and City wide priorities. To undertake any other tasks, duties and responsibilities as directed and appropriate to the grade and role of the post subject to any reasonable adjustments under the Disability Discrimination Act 1995 as incorporated into the Equality Act 2010. To participate in the wider development of the service and contribute to service improvement as required. We are recruiting for 4 x Vehicle Inspectors for City of Wolverhampton Council private hire department. Pay rate: £12.59 per hour Hours and days: 1 pm to 9 pm Monday to Friday Location: Bilston Job Purpose To inspect private hire vehicles according to the Council's compliance criteria on appointment basis. To ensure that Services within them are undertaken and completed within given timescales. the Business Support Unit operating hours will provide customers with support between 1.00 pm and 9.00pm, this post is specific for the afternoon shift. Main Business Support Responsibilities: Plan and organise own work and coordinate with other team members. Ensure effective recording and handover systems for all Business Support Unit tasks to ensure all Service requests are completed. Plan and organise own work and coordinate with other team members. Work flexibly to support the work of all services within the Business Support Units as part of a team of administrative and clerical staff. Respond to specific enquiries and complaints either from staff or members of the public as they arise and deal with them in line with agreed procedures. When required, ensure that working environments and equipment are safe and in good working order. Provide administrative assistance to support the work of the Services supported by the Business Support Units Assist in the provision and preparation of information and documentation in support of specific project activities, including the gathering and collating of data and the maintenance of accurate and appropriate records. Support and assist in the inputting and updating of records within the relevant Service databases.
