We are seeking a dedicated Shift Chemist for a permanent position within our Engineering & Manufacturing department. The successful candidate will have a strong background in industrial/manufacturing chemistry, with a focus on metal alloys. Description Key Tasks and Accountabilities: Follow instructions to prepare and analyse samples to agreed timescales and to evaluate the chemical acceptability of product to internal and external standards reporting the results obtained. Plan workload and analysis schedules in conjunction with the production departments so that agreed volumes and time targets are met. Calibrate and maintain instrumentation in laboratory to ensure minimum downtime. Liaise and communicate effectively with other departments as required. Work to required standards and assist in maintaining quality systems/standards Suggest and prepare amendments to internal instructions /methods as required, as well as those resulting from development and validation of new methods. Raise internal nonconformance as required Comply with company working and safety practices and polices Profile A successful Shift Chemist should have: A degree in Chemistry or a related field. Experience working in an industrial/manufacturing environment, particularly with metal alloys. A strong understanding of analytical methodologies and laboratory instrumentation. Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail. Good communication and team-working abilities. Job Offer A competitive salary £35700 per year.
