The starting salary for this role is £32,512 per annum, working 36 hours per week. This is an 18-month fixed term contract/ secondment opportunity. About the Role We are excited to be hiring a new Community Safety Partnership Administrator to join our fantastic Community Partnership Team predominantly based in Woodhatch Place, Reigate. As the Prevention Administrator, you will organise and allocate the requested Safe and Well Visits that are received into Surrey Fire and Rescue safeguarding inbox. You will contact the public and liaise with partner agencies, including Adult Social Care, ensuring that all requests and enquiries are dealt with in a timely manner, which in turn provides people in the community who are most risk with a level of support and ongoing intervention for Fire Safety. Daily duties in this role will include: Processing of Safe and Well visit requests, referrals and reports, taking appropriate action following assessment of risk and need Risk assessing and prioritising visits and allocating to the Partnership Team or Fire Station Crews to complete Liaising with partner agencies and Adult Social Care Speaking to the public and assessing the needs of the most vulnerable across our county Supporting to deliver community-based project work Supporting and working with external partners to create safer communities This role will require the applicant to have an enhanced DBS check as they will be responsible for handling and sharing sensitive personal information for vulnerable people across our County. We are looking for a great communicator, with good written and verbal skills and have a sound understanding of computer programmes such as Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Teams. You will also require the ability to learn about internal software systems and be able to use these effectively to carry out the role. The Compliance Team's role is to monitor the performance of statutory undertaker's work on the highway. This is done by carrying out inspections on their works to make certain that they are safe whilst in operation and that any subsequent reinstatement of excavations are carried out to the required standards set out by the Department for Transport. By doing this, the team help to reduce congestion and help to improve the safety of the highway for pedestrians and motorists. The team will also assist colleagues in other Highway teams with any specialist advice they may require relating to works by statutory undertakers. About the Role Driving a Surrey CC Vehicle to carry out your duties as a Street Works Officer, you will be lone working for much of the day, route planning to maximise your time. You will carry out inspections for the Lane Rental Scheme, the Permit Scheme and monitor street and road works performance, contributing to the Local Transport Plan objective of reducing congestion and ensuring the best possible service to all highway users. You will also carry out 'live site' and reinstatement inspections, determining their compliance to the Safety at Street Works and Road Works, A Code of Practice (2013) and the Specification for the Reinstatement of Openings in the Highway (2020) and permit inspections to check that works are complying with the agreed permit conditions. The disruption that can be caused by road works and street works inevitably lead to enquiries from members of the public and it is an important part of this role to respond to these with informative and sometimes detailed responses. As part of the team, you will work collaboratively with the Street Works Compliance Manager, the Senior Street Works Officers and your colleagues across the team. You will strive to continually improve and sometimes challenge our current ways of working, helping to ensure that our processes remain relevant and effective in frequently changing external and internal environments.
