WHAT WILL THE ENGINEERING MANAGER BE DOING? As PEM, you are accountable for managing, leading, coordinating, implementing, and ensuring the performance of discipline engineering activities within a specific project in our major initiative. RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE... Applying safety legislation (CDM, PUWER, Health and Safety at Work Act) Managing design control, including DCP production and change control Producing engineering deliverables: BoD, analysis, calculations, drawings, specifications Coordinating technical risk management and requirements Managing development of engineering delivery baselines, project oversight, and reporting Engaging with delivery partners and oversees supply chain organisations Working within project and nuclear industry delivery processes NUCLEAR-SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES... Expertise in operational safety case, design change control, and periodic safety reviews Understanding of design substantiation process and interactions with the safety case Experience in quality control and knowledge of UK nuclear and environmental regulators IT IS ESSENTIAL TO HAVE... Professional membership of a relevant chartered body or working towards one Proven experience in complex/major project engineering, including supervisory roles managing a single-discipline engineering team and supply chain organisations. As a Cost Engineer, you will be working in Business Management with responsibility for all aspects of Cost within one of the Programme Controls Teams. You will be responsible for the establishment, development, maintenance of timely, accurate cost data, and reports, including forecasts, performance analysis, earned value, cash flows, and monthly reports on the Actual Cost of Work Performed (ACWP). A typical day for a Cost Engineer within Business Management could look like this: Production and maintenance of accurate cost and cash forecasts in alignment with the Cost Assessment of all changes and accurate representation of approved changes Assisting with the development of cost systems and reports to ensure delivery of objectives Maintenance all cost data within the financial control system Provision of timely and focused cost reporting for key stakeholders Accurate assessment of the EAC Ensuring that earned value techniques and indices are correctly implemented Comparison and analysis of trends and identification of risk and opportunities Review, acceptance and integration of cost estimates and forecasts Adherence to governance and Cost standards and procedures We would like you to demonstrate or have experience of: Professionally qualified with chartered or equivalent status Success in a Project Controls environment or similar Cost role within Business Management Adept with tech such as Cost tools, Excel and IT Building rapport and creating great relationships Motivating and building teams What's great about Cost E life at AWE?
