JOB- Product Engineering Manager

LOCATION- Reading (hybrid/remote working is available)

TERM- Permanent

SALARY- £50,000 - £85,000 per annum (dependent on experience)

My client is a specialist manufacturer within the Oil & Gas, Subsea and Renewable Energy industries. They are looking for a Product Engineering Manager to join their team in Reading on a permanent basis (hybrid/remote working is available).

The Product Engineering Manager will ideally have the following attributes:

  • BSc / BEng in Mechanical Engineering or similar
  • 5 or more years' of industry experience working in similar Mechanical or Hydraulic Design role
  • Proven ability to take products from conceptual design to being sold commercially
  • Experienced setting up and implementing new ERP systems
  • Experienced managing teams
  • Ideally be experienced working in a small business and driving for growth
  • Proficiency with CAD software – ideally Inventor or similar
  • Oil & Gas, Subsea, Renewables, Hydraulics or similar industry experience would also be beneficial
  • Ability to drive Engineering development
  • Good mathematical and general engineering knowledge
  • Excellent knowledge of manufacturing processes and materials – sheet metal, castings, machining etc.
  • The ability to understand system requirements
  • Be self-motivated with excellent attention to detail
  • Have excellent communication skills both verbal and written

The Product Engineering Manager role will involve:

  • Managing a team working on the company's product range
  • Being involved with Engineering/Design as well as overseeing New Product Development and Introduction processes
  • Taking things from concept to launch
  • Helping to develop existing products on a technical level
  • Liaising with customers as required keeping them up to date with project progress
  • Producing technical drawings as needed
  • Offering technical support
  • Sourcing and selecting components that are required
