SEN Teaching Assistant Salary: £23,000 per annum Location: Guildford Job Type: Part-time (3 or 4 days per week, including Tuesday) We are looking for caring and dedicated SEN Teaching Assistants to join our outstanding team at an Ofsted-rated Outstanding' school. This is an excellent opportunity for individuals passionate about special education needs (SEN) to work with autistic children aged 4-19. Day to Day of the role: Provide individualised support and teaching to pupils, following tailored curriculums. Plan, prepare, and deliver lessons and activities with a focus on communication skills and life skills. Support pupil participation in trips, applying theoretical learning in practical settings. Offer behaviourally based support to replace and reduce behaviours that impact quality of life. Provide personal care, encouraging pupils to maintain acceptable levels of hygiene. Monitor pupil progress and adapt teaching methods to meet each child's needs. Assist with breaktime duties, including playground support and snack time. Required Skills & Qualifications: Professional, personal, or voluntary experience working with children and disabilities. Minimum Grade C/4 GCSE in English Language & Maths or equivalent. Comfortable working with children who exhibit challenging behaviour. Willing to support others with personal/intimate care as required. Ability to remain composed in high-pressure situations.
