Job Title: Site Contract Manager - FM Site Hygiene & Waste Management

Location: Halewood, Liverpool

Contract: Full time

Hours: 37.5 per week

Salary: £55,000 to £61,000 plus 20% bonus, dependent on experience & qualifications

Role Purpose

The Site Contract Manager will be responsible for the management of all operational cleaning activities on the contract, including labour, plant and equipment operation and maintenance, financial and administrative duties for the Halewood site. They will lead, coach, mentor, and manage an established management team and a team of cleaning and waste operatives, as well as taking responsibility for recruitment and training of future employees.

Duties & Responsibilities

Delivery

  • Manage personnel (training, absence, disciplinary) through cleaning supervisors.
  • Ensure all staff maintain safe working practices through implementation of Company and Health & Safety regulations.
  • Manage all operational cleaning activities in order to ensure the timely delivery of services to a standard which meets and exceeds that required by the customer.
  • Manage operational resources to ensure efficient working both as teams and as individuals, undertaking capacity and resource planning where appropriate.
  • Monitor and report on profitability by measuring actual costs against budget, utilising visual management where appropriate.
  • Drive continuous improvement to improve costs, quality, and services quantitatively and qualitatively both for the organisation and our customer.
  • Ensure the efficient scheduling and timely delivery of on-site activities.
  • Oversee KPI reporting and ensure that reports are delivered to the agreed schedule.
  • Ensure that cleaning operations are undertaken in a safe manner, with special focus on ensuring:

Collaboration

  • Manage, develop, and motivate direct reporting staff.
  • Ensure effective communication is provided either verbally or in writing to all members of staff.
  • Endeavour to build and maintain effective client relationships, ensuring that the business image is presented suitably represents the high standards required by the Company.
  • Manage the client relationship and ensure a high level of service performance.

Empowerment

  • Establish and maintain a working knowledge of Company systems and endeavour to ensure adherence to these, paying special attention to Operating Systems and processes for timely delivery of services to the required standard.
  • Ensure the procurement of capable and reliable plant equipment required for cleaning operations.
  • Ensure all service contracts are fulfilled and maintenance activities associated with the equipment used for cleaning are carried out.
  • Apply problem-solving skills to ensure that all team members can identify root causes and take fast, effective action to resolve problems.
  • Develop and deliver presentations to management, colleagues, and customers.

Qualifications, Experience & Skills

Essential

  • HNC or equivalent qualification
  • Proven management / supervisory background
  • History of customer-focused cleaning contract management
  • Sound understanding of the waste industry
  • Familiarity with working in a factory environment
  • Knowledge of applicable Health and Safety regulations and legislation
  • Experience of planning provision of resources
  • History of leading and supporting teams and individuals
  • Experience of cost controls
  • Ability to prioritise and meet deadlines, multi-task, and re-prioritise work.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills

Desirable

  • Formal management degree / diploma
  • Knowledge of WR1
  • Duty of care knowledge
  • Full understanding of PCA and Navision software.
