Q - Are you a Computer Science graduate looking for an exciting opportunity to kick-start a rewarding career?

We are excited to be working with an Outstanding Secondary school in Brent which is actively looking to expand its department and take on an Academic Mentor - Computer Science. This role will be for the full academic year and commencing this September 2024.

The school are looking for bright Computer Science graduates who can support students in KS3-KS5 by running small group interventions as well as supporting on a 1:1 basis**.** Within the role you will be working within the Computer Science department, working alongside teachers and subject leads in the creation of resources for intervention sessions and assisting with general classroom support.

This role is perfect for those with aspirations to become a Computer Science Teacher as the school offers a Teacher Training opportunity in September 2025 for suitable graduates!

Academic Mentor - Computer Science - Job description

  • Academic Mentor - Computer Science
  • Working across KS3 & KS4
  • Lead small intervention groups and 1:1 sessions (including GCSE and A Level)
  • Assist within the classroom with general TA duties to support the lead teachers
  • Help the subject leads in the creation of resources for lessons and support sessions
  • Based in the borough of Brent
  • £105 - £110 per day - Term time only
  • September 2024 start - Full academic year
  • Full-time - 8:30 am - 4:00 pm

Academic Mentor - Computer Science - Person Specification

  • 1st Class or 2:1 graduate in Computer Science/Kindred Degree from a reputable University
  • Good A Levels & GCSEs
  • Must be a confident, compassionate and hardworking individual
  • Be confident in their ability to support the students in the subject
  • Effectively work well within the subject department and be a team player
  • Perfect for those with a passion to become a Computer Science Teacher!
