Merrifield Consultants are proud to partner with a membership body to find their new Marketing Assistant. This role is fantastic for a candidate looking to develop their marketing experience and build upon their skills. They will work in a large marketing team supporting on various marketing campaigns.

Job Title: Marketing Assistant
Contract: Full time, temporary until December (potential for extension)
Organisation: Membership body
Salary: £29,000
Location: London (Flexible on how many days in the office)
Closing date: 29th of August

Role responsibilities:

  • Assist in the planning, execution, and monitoring of marketing and communications activity across various channels.
  • Support the smooth running of the Marketing Services team through effective administrative support.
  • Assist in the planning, execution, and monitoring of marketing activity.
  • Proofreading: meticulously proofread marketing materials, including content for campaigns, emails, and newsletters, to ensure accuracy and consistency.
  • Brief basic design jobs to the design team, ensuring that all materials meet brand guidelines and project objectives.
  • Web updates: raise tickets for basic website updates, ensuring that content is accurate and up to date.
  • Content creation: assist in the creation of engaging content and marketing materials
  • Build and proofread e-newsletters and solus emails using our email marketing platform, selecting suitable images and making copy edits as needed.
  • Ensure emails are on-brand, accurate, and effectively communicate our messages.
  • Administrative support: provide administrative support to the Marketing Services team, including coordinating meetings, circulating notes and actions, updating our case study database, and raising and managing purchase requisitions.

Skills and experience:

  • Degree or equivalent in Marketing.
  • Digital marketing: Basic understanding of key digital platforms and tools including video, social media, email and content platforms.
  • Analytics and data: awareness of CRM and digital analytics platforms (for example HubSpot, Microsoft Dynamics, GA4, PowerBI)
  • Email marketing: understanding of email marketing and basic awareness of relevant platforms.
  • Communication skills
  • Organisational skills: able to manage time effectively and prioritise in order to manage multiple projects.
  • Email marketing: experience using Email Service Providers (such as HubSpot) D
  • Collaboration: able to work effectively with colleagues across the organisation
  • Copywriting
  • Confident user of Microsoft Office 365: including Teams, Outlook, Word, PowerPoint and Excel
