JLR & Tata Group story : To accelerate their progress towards achieving a cleaner, greener, and carbon neutral world, they have formed a new Tata Group Synergies team which will focus on leveraging the opportunities and world leading capabilities within energy, technology, communication and software that exist within the Tata Group. Enabling them to capitalise on these opportunities, they are building a Tata Group Synergies project team to develop our strategic approach to battery supply working across multiple organisations, both inside and outside the group.

Description

Construction Scheduler working in the PMO for this landmark project. Must be from a construction background and be used to working on high value projects to ensure you are the right level for this high level role.

This is a role that coordinates all aspects of the new build phase from both a cost and planning perspective.

Reporting into Senior Manager PMO & Project Controls and will have a flexible remit within the capital projects UK portfolio covering the following topics: Schedule Management -

Profile

Schedule Management -

  • Work with the master scheduler to ensure that all projects and key milestones within the Capital Projects Portfolio are reflect in the Integrated Master Schedule (IMS).
  • Monitor & analyse progress against the portfolio master schedule to forecast potential delays, identify deviations, and recommend mitigation strategies and corrective actions.
  • Communicate schedule updates and impacts to project teams, stakeholders, and senior management.
  • Work with the Operations team, to facilitate the scheduling aspect of the go-live readiness plan, ensuring all business units are prepared for the factory go-live. Risk Management -
  • Take ownership of and refine the Capital projects Risk Management Plan ensuring its implementation across all projects in the portfolio.
  • Provide training and facilitation to team members to increase awareness of and ensure adherence to the RMP.
  • Provide regular reporting to the Capital Projects Leadership team on the current and future risk exposure within the portfolio.
  • Perform and oversee regular audits of risk management activities to determine maturity and identify areas for improvement in governance, policy, process, and technology.

Change Control -

  • Lead the change management process, including identifying potential changes, ensuring impact assessments are completed, and changes are implemented on-time and to budget.
  • Coordinate with contractors, subcontractors, and other stakeholders to ensure seamless integration of approved changes into the project schedule
  • Work with the Contract Administrator to manage the contract change order process, from initiation to resolution, including preparing and issuing change orders.
  • Monitor and track change orders over time to analyse trends and improve the change management process. Reporting -
  • Develop and implement standardized reporting processes and templates for project teams across the Capital Projects portfolio.
  • Create and maintain dashboards and visualizations to communicate project status and key performance indicators (KPIs) to stakeholders.
  • Identify trends, issues, and risks through data analysis and provide actionable insights and recommendations to improve project performance.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure alignment on reporting requirements and data accuracy.

Essential Experience

  • Extensive project management experience in a large-scale project environment, construction experience is highly desirable
  • Due to the to maturity of the organisation, you will need to be comfortable working with ambiguity and work in a flexible way
  • Proficiency in project management methodologies (e.g., Agile, Waterfall)
  • Tech savvy and familiarity with the latest project management and collaboration tools (e.g., JIRA, Trello, Asana, MS Project, etc).
  • Previous experience in a scheduling, reporting, cost & change control, or risk management role in a construction environment, ideally with relevant qualifications Desired Experience
  • Experience working on large-scale projects and programmes from inception to completion
  • Demonstrated ability to manage relationships with contractors, subcontractors, and various stakeholders
  • Experience with governance, policy, and process improvements in project settings.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to identify trends, issues, and provide actionable insights.
  • High level of attention to detail to ensure accuracy in schedules, reports, and risk assessments.

Job Offer

  • Salary: 60-68k
  • Bonus: 12.5%
  • Car Allowance: £6,840
  • Base Location: NAIC, Warwick University (Hybrid)
